Dr. Jenkins is a healthcare professional with diverse knowledge in the disciplines of medicine, business, science, and technology.  He has worked in healthcare for over 15 years while earning numerous accolades including: research fellowship grants from the National Institute of Health and the National Science Foundation, clinical application awards from the American Thoracic Society and American Medical Informatics Association, and multiple publications such as in Pharmacogenomics and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics.  He has been a physician for over 10 years and actively practices Internal Medicine as a Hospitalist while serving on multiple committees dedicated to clinic case peer review, medical care utilization management, and quality assessment-quality improvement reporting.  

 



Dr. Jenkins’ educational background and professional experience is a unique.  He completed his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan during which time he participated in basic science research within Biochemistry & Immunology.  Afterwards he moved to New York and graduated from Columbia University with two degrees, a Master of Art in Biotechnology and a Master of Art in Biomedical Informatics.  While attending graduate school he contributed to a laboratory dedicated to Genetics & Development before transitioning to business development and conducting licensing deals at Science & Technology Ventures.  He then attended Vanderbilt University and completed his Medical Doctorate degree while also leading multiple projects in the departments of Biomedical Informatics and Critical Care Medicine.  Following medical school he pursued Post-Doctorate training in Clinical Pharmacogenomics at the University of California San Francisco where he conducted novel genomics research with significant clinical applications towards diabetes mellitus.




Given his distinct breadth of healthcare knowledge, Dr. Jenkins is often sought for consultancy services and provides keen insights pertaining to: healthcare technology application development as a clinical data scientist and biomedical-biopharmaceutical investment advising as a healthcare buy-side analyst.  He has worked with numerous organizations ranging from early-stage venture companies to publically traded corporations to limited liability partnerships.  In 2017, Dr. Jenkins formally created George Gerard LLC to offer these services and insights while directing other consultants to meet the growing demand of healthcare knowledge.
